The creation of the RURAL WOMEN’S ACTION FOR SUSTAINABILITY AND JUSTICE (RWASJ) marks a significant milestone in the journey toward empowering rural women and advocating for sustainable devolvement and social justice. The pressing need to address the multifaceted challenges faced by women in the rural communities, including limited access to resources, social inequalities, and environmental vulnerabilities gave rise to this initiative.

RWASJ is founded on the principles of inclusivity, equity and sustainability. Our mission is rooted in the belief that in an increasingly interconnected world, rural women remain the cornerstone of resilient societies and key drivers of positive change and sustainable development. RWASJ is here to amplify their voices, strengthen their capabilities, and provide an inclusive platform for collective action toward a just and sustainable future.

RWASJ came into existence since 2020 and was officially registered in 2025 with a national coverage.
