Solidarity in Action: Uniting for a Safer, More Just and Better World
Yesterday, Rural Women’s Action for Sustainability and Justice (RWASJ) proudly joined the United Nations Information Centre in Yaoundé, alongside UN agencies, humanitarian partners, and local stakeholders, to commemorate World Humanitarian Day (WHD) 2025 under the theme: “Strengthening Global Solidarity in Local Communities.”
World Humanitarian Day is a moment of reflection, gratitude, and renewed commitment. It honors aid workers who have paid the ultimate price in service to humanity and recognizes those who continue to stand with communities in times of crisis.
During the commemoration, partners emphasized the urgent need for stronger collaboration between global institutions and local actors, especially in the face of growing humanitarian challenges such as rising unemployment and the impact of suspended aid support on vulnerable communities.
RWASJ stands firmly with humanitarian workers everywhere and reaffirms our dedication to:
✨ Protecting and supporting those who serve on the frontlines.
✨ Building resilient partnerships that bridge global and local efforts.
✨ Keeping communities at the heart of humanitarian action.
🤝 Together, we believe in the power of solidarity to heal, protect, and rebuild lives.
